The Story of Cafe Freddo

Cafe Freddo is a small, independently owned and operated cafe and sandwich shop located in Ealing. We are proud to have been featured in the February 2010 listing by The Independent of the Top Coffee Shops in London!

Who are we?
Simon and Oksana had often been disappointed by the coffee, service, and food in many cafes in London.

Tea everywhere, not a drop to drink
When they returned to London (once the tea capital of the world), Oksana was surprised and disappointed to find that it was difficult to find a decent cup anywhere. She persevered and with much searching found a couple of specialist tea shops in Central London. Outside Central London the story was worse and a good tea selection was almost impossible to find anywhere.

Coffee passion
Simon, on the other hand, is a lover of coffee. So much so that he bought a commercial machine for home use and set about perfecting the art of coffee making. "There are only half a dozen coffee shops in London to get good coffee.. Fellow Londoners have grown used to accepting poor coffee, so many coffee chains flourish here. When we opened our café, we made sure we offered our customers the real hand-roasted coffee they deserve. Many of our customers began to taste real coffee for the first time. If you've never tried it, it's quite different!"

Chain free coffee
It's a fact that for every pound you spend in a particular well known chain, the profits end up in abroad. We're an independent café, so money spent with us stays in Britain and is circulated locally. That has to be good for all of us here.

Tea nirvana
Thanks to Oksana, Café Freddo is also stocked it with an amazing tea list. All tastes are catered for, from their strong and inexpensive "builders tea" to some of the finest black Ceylon, green (oolong, guricha etc) and jasmine teas. Even rosebud tea and happiness tea are available here to try!

Local residents of Ealing who are in the know use Café Freddo as the place to get their daily cup on the way to work
They can now enjoy their morning drink on the tube rather than tolerate it. Drop by to experience it yourself!
